Abijah Chemtai

Picture
_ Abijah is one of Pathfinder's most promising students, having scored the 3rd highest grade - 430 - on the most recent comprehensive exams. Her favorite subject in school is science because most of what she learns is about the environment she is surrounded by. She scored a near perfect grade of 96% on the science portion of her most recent exam. Abijah wishes to become a pilot when she grows up because she will be able to tour many countries. She also enjoys playing soccer, singing and reading storybooks in her free time. Her favorite food is chips and chicken and if she could travel anywhere, she would go to Canada because she has some friends in Canada. She lives with her parents and 2 brothers and a sister, but there are many problems at home. She and her mother get sick frequently. Her mother gets ulcers and is unable to work as a result. Her father is a farmer but only earns $1 a day, so there is often a shortage of money and food at home. Paying school fees is also a problem for Abijah's parents and she will need to find a sponsor if she will be able to attend high school as her parents are not able to educate her to a level that she wishes to reach. Her school fees are waived now at Pathfinder Primary but they cannot be waived at high school next year. If Abijah finds a sponsor she promises that she will work hard to acheive the best results she can and she will thank God and her sponsor when she finishes school. If she can't find a sponsor, she says that she will accept the situation and will try to start a small business, although it will be hard with only a primary school education. Abijah hopes to attend Lenana Girls High School. Sponsor Abijah
