Joshua Machinga, Founder & In-Country Director

Joshua is an experienced community mobilizer who spent over thirty years working on education management, conservation and food, finance, social justice, and human rights within his local communities and abroad.

Joshua has always been keen on promoting creative thinking among the local youths. After graduating Manor House Agricultural College in 1991, he joined the World Bank/ODA as the Community Liaison Coordinator. He later left the World Bank and founded Common Ground for Africa to fulfill his hope to alleviate poverty in Africa, starting from his own community. His passion to help the poor has enabled him to traverse the world and meet with global leaders, such as Nelson Mandela and Kenneth Kaunda, to bring change to the world.
