Felix Otieno

Picture
_ Felix, at 12 years old, is one of the youngest students in his grade 8 class but he has also shown some of the most promise. He enjoys studying science and wishes to become a doctor when he grows up because he has had an interest in medicine since he was a young child. Felix also excels in sports, his favorite being soccer. His favorite team is Arsenal. He also enjoys reading storybooks when he's not studying. His favorite food is the traditional Kenyan meal of Ugali with fried fish. If Felix could travel anywhere in the world it would be to the United States or to England because he has heard a lot about them. He looks up to Ben Carson as a roll model because he has learned a lot from him. Felix lives with his father, his mother is not around. He has one brother but his father has also taken in other children who are orphans. His father does casual work for money, most often working as a builder or farmer. Casual workers, however, only earn about $1 a day for their work and it is therefore impossible for his  father to pay school fees for Felix and his siblings. He hopes to get a sponsor for high school because there is no way his father will be able to pay his fees and feed his brother and the other children at the same time. He promises to work very hard and will be very glad if he finds a sponsor. If he doesn't find a sponsor, he says he will try to continue his education but will probably have to start working on a farm for money. Felix wishes to attend Lenana Boys High School. Sponsor Felix
