Ian Kagaathi

Picture
_ Ian is one of Pathfinder's most promising students ranking in the top 10% of his grade 8 class despite an array of hardships at home. His favorite subject is mathematics and he scores very well in it. He wishes to become a doctor upon graduation because he wants to help people who aren't able to help themselves. Outside of the classroom, Ian excels in athletics. He participates in swimming, badminton and soccer, his favorite team being Chelsea and his favorite player Drogba. He lists ugali and fish as his favorite food and would travel to the United States if he could travel anywhere so that he could continue with his education in either Washington DC or New York City because he has heard of great universities there. Ian lists Ben Carson as his roll model because he began very poorly and finished so well, having achieved his goals in the end. At home, Ian's father has passed away and his mother lives elsewhere with her mother. Ian lives with his 2 brothers, sister and grandparents who are too elderly and weak to hold jobs. His uncle tries to pay his school fees and those of his siblings but it is often impossible for him and it will certainly be impossible when Ian is in high school next year with higher school fees. He therefore needs to find a sponsor if will be able to succeed in achieving his goal of becoming a doctor. He says that if he finds a sponsor he will be very happy and will work hard to acheive the grades needed to be accepted to medical school. If he doesn't find a sponsor, he is not sure what he will do but he will have many problems and will likely have to start working. Ian hopes to attend Lenana Boys High School. Sponsor Ian
